At it again

Gotta say. Them Games Workshop guys really know how to hook a feller. Remember me going: "... I blah blah a small army of Space Wolves... blah blah..." Yeah, right. I have now expended over 200 euros & countless hours with the hobby and I have to say it has been a ride worth taking. Deceivingly simple, but utterly, fascinatingly vivid, this experience of total & eernal war intrigues me greatly. And not just the game itself, but the hobby part of it: painting, scratch-building, modifying. Lovely, just lovely!

About the T2013: Like the system. It really has cashed in the expectations I had for it. Even when abused, it produces versimilitude. Of the sweet and geek-seducing kind. Not the boring realistic stuff. Having said that, the youtube generation does not have to guess, it knows what war is like. And it likes it, it sorrows me to say. Me included. The war has transformed as he wagers of it are gamers and consumers of mass media themselves. Either the creators of games have finally learned the nature of war or the people warring have learned what war is supposed to be from media, but they are nearer eachother than ever after the generation that survived the WWII.

So, we liked how the game played even after a TPK. That is why we made another group and have played one session with it and are waiting for nasty real life to look elsewhere to have another go with this group. And byt the way: all skype-session worked wonders, I think it really suites this campaign. Brought whole new level to the gaming experience and really made for better all-a-round gaming for all parties.

In other news I'm now on vacation. This is so far the best summer we have had while living here in prepheria and we finally have made some sort of peace with the whole situation (moldy house, extreme work related stress) and have enjoyed the summer. Which is fabulous! And there's a spark of light saying that maybe the winter after this one we'll be able to live in a new loghouse here and enjoy the life even more. I feel energized and actually do things! This is just great!
